Subject of the Discussion
The war against Ukraine has shaken previous ideas of war and peace. It has triggered a new and more intensive reflection on the requirements of a realistic Christian peace ethic and a value-oriented peace policy. This does not only concern the struggle for church positions. There are also heated discussions in Germany about the shape of peace science and peace policy, not least in the context of the new national security strategy. What consequences do the changes in the previous world order have for peace ethics and peace policy?
We listen and talk to:
- Sara Nanni, MdB (Head of the Working Group on Security, Peace and Disarmament of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen parliamentary group in the Bundestag)
- Prof. em. Dr. Heinz-Günter Stobbe (Moderator of the Peace Section of the German Commission Justitia et Pax)
- Myroslav Marynovych (Vice-Rector of the Ukrainian Catholic University, Lviv/Ukraine)
- Prof. Dr. Ulrich Schneckener (Professor of International Relations & Peace and Conflict Research at the University of Osnabrück and Chairman of the Board of the German Foundation for Peace Research) – requested
Moderation:
- Dr. Jörg Lüer (Executive Director of the German Commission Justitia et Pax)
